I'am currently trying to track down the mineral right contracts on the property I own. I have not had much luck. Where would be the best place to start to find these documents, and state laws on mineral rights?? The mineral rights owner has been unwilling to give information and so has the company that maintains the equipment. So it would seem that there is actually two contracts. One between the land owner and the mineral rights owner when the rights were orignialy sold off, and the second between the owner of the mineral rights and the company's who's equipment harvests the minerals. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Waitt a second. You own the property and you don't have a copy of the mineral lease? How did that happen?

Easy thing to do is get it from the mineral rights holder.

Addendum to this - their right to harvest the minerals depends on them having a lease. I'm sure they could be made to see that it is in their best interest for them to demonstrate to you that they do, indeed, have a copy of the lease.
