Alcohol & Drugs: MIP, MIC, Intoxication Minor in Possession of Open Alcohol Container

The other night myself and four other friends were driving up a quiet narrow road. We were in a pick up truck. We had slowed down so 3 of my friends could get into the bed. I was in the passengers seat. I had an open alcohol container with me and we also had beer in the bed and in the backseat. A cop passed by and immediately shine the lights on us and pulled over next to us. They both got out and immediately asked us if we had weed (which we didn't). They told us to show our hands and get out out of the vehicle. The driver and I were brought into the cop car. I left the container under my seat but the cops searched the car and found it. They charged me with possession of an open alcohol container and my friends were charged with minors in possession. What would be the best way to fight this?
