Aright. so the other night. i was at a highschool at about 1030pm playin capture the flag with a group of friends. around 11 we were done and decided to leave. me n my friend went ahead of everyone to get some food. so when we reached my car 2 cops came out of no where and told us to come out of there car. we both did. they patted us down found nothing. one cop was questioning me and then the other cop was looking into my car. he found a airsoft BB gun laying on the passenger side seat (my fault for leaving it there)... and so he opens my car door and askes if he can search the rest of my car, and i let him, and if he'll find any illegal things... i told him that i was carrying a bottle of Bacardi 151 under the passenger seat. I had nothing to drink the whole night and i said i was just holding it for a friend which i really was. the cop told me to breathe out so he could smell my breathe and said that i was fine. So now they're chargin me with 626.10(a) and 25662(a). i searched up the meaning of 626.10(A) and it stated that
"Possession of weapon, other than firearm, on grounds of public or private elementary, middle, or high school" which i was never on the campus with the gun on me. it was in my car across the street from the school. and then there was another place where it stated it that the pellet gun had to exert a metallic object or something... buh if ANY the pellets in the gun were plastic... i dont know im just trying to find anything to fight it. as for the alcohol. i dont know much about it.
now i was wondering if there is anyway i could some how fight both of these charges or atleats one of them.
oh and im 17 and i live in california if that changes anything.
