Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft minor shoplifting with conditional status residency

If a minor (16 years old) shoplifts and gets a citation for that, (should get a call to find out more other consequences) and she has a conditional resident status, (due to a parent's marriage) what will happen when the family will apply for a removal of conditional status in a year? Is there a risk of deportation? Is it big? Is there anything possible to do to prevent that in any way?

if it is her only conviction she will be under the exception. But she needs to watch out.
