Last weekend I was relaxing after my first week of college with 4 friends at a state beach. We were drinkin a bit, but not causing any disturbance. Fireworks were being set off all around us, and we were just sitting by a small fire. A park ranger pulled up. I was holding a red cup. Everyone else was drinking out of one jug. Out of pure instinct I grabbed a beer from behind my chair and tucked it underneath. The officer asked who was 21 and no one said anything. He pulled me aside and ran my name. I have two last names and he could not find a match in the system. He told me he would take me to jail if he didn't find a match. Politely I told him to try my other name. I asked him why he stopped by and he said I looked underage and was "holding a beer." I told him I was not holding a beer at the time he stopped. He did not breathalyze me, but wrote me an MIP. The officer was very rude, using offensive language and yelling at my friend "What are you going to cry now?" Then yelling "Shut up! Shut up!" when my other friend politely asked him not to use that tone. He had us pour out all our alcohol and said "thank you for your cooperation" and left, only leaving me with an MIP. What is my best bet for not getting my license taken away? I'm a good student and have nothing on my record.

When u go to court, just ask if u can do diversion. Thats gonna reduce the penalty
by so much I loved it

If u do diversion, your license doesnt get taken away and the case gets dismissed.
thats only if its your first offence. just dont flirt with the law ever again. I learned that
lesson lately.
