My boyfriend recently served 40 days in jail for theft, he was supposed to get a felony but instead chose the option of jail time and two misdemeanors (Class C). Before that charge he had previous misdemeanor for theft. He was driving today and got pulled over, only to find out his license is suspended. He now has a court date in July and is worried that this Class E misdemeanor will turn his other misdemeanors into a felony and send him back to jail. Is this true? This is all in the state of Maine.

He has violated his probation so yes he could not face felony charges. However I suspect he will just get some more jail time like 30 days

He isn't on probation though, he's on house arrest through Volunteers of America, and is allowed to go job hunting which he was doing at the time.
