I left a permanent job of 61/2 years to take up another position as administrator with real estate agent. I was initially offered part time but turned it down as I needed full time work and would not leave long standing job for that reason. After I month I was let go . Devastated and feel job was not properly described to me but moreover , they employed me without testing or establishing my skills. I am very upset.

If you are thinking this gives you a reason to bring some kind of lawsuit against them then you are mistaken.
File for unemployment if necessary and seek new employment.

So you think your location is not applicable?

Let me tell you why it is.

According to your IP address you are posting from Ireland. The law in Ireland and the law in the US is not the same. In the US, MM's response would almost certainly be correct. It may or may not be the same in Ireland.

It's always discouraging when one loses a job.
After getting your head right, dust yourself off, and get yourself back in the hunt.
Life offers us but one guarantee, none of us are going to get out alive in this world.
Sorry, things didn't work out, but nothing inappropriate or illegal was revealed in your recitation of events.
Next time, make sure you understand things fully before accepting any job offer.
If the potential employer has no patience for questions, that's a sign in and of itself.
Good luck.

Can you possibly get a job back with your prior employer? Good luck.
