Missouri 17 year-old

My 17 year-old daughter has been told that it is legal for her to move out at 17 years of age. I am still responsible for her and anything she does until 18. Can she legally move out at 17?

Not if you say no.

This is not my area of expertise, but I have been given to understand that the law in MO is written in such a way that the cops will probably not put too much effort into trying to locate a 17 year old who leaves home - UNLESS the parents light a large bonfire under them.

This has led a number of 17 year olds to believe that if they leave home at 17 there is nothing anyone can do.

Until they reach the age of 18, they are still under the care and control of their parents. If mom and dad say no, the answer is no.
