I have a mobile home that was set up for 31 years on land my father told me to use as it was part of my and sister's future inheritance. I also had the electric power in his name per his advice, though we received and paid the bill. We purchased another home but kept the mobile home as seasonal/storage. Dad died two years ago and Mom inherited the estate.
In November we received a final electric bill and upon calling the power company were told mom had ordered it disconnected as we were moving out and my sister moving in. Shortly after, I found out that my brother-in-law had moved the home to an unimproved part in the back of my mother's adjacent field and just dumped it there. He did not level it up or put it on blocks as it had been on the previous site. The blocks that it had been sitting on and the steps are missing. All this was done without our permission or any notification. Do we have any legal recourse since the land and power were not in our name? Was it legal for it to be moved without our permission? Can any criminal charges be made against the mover?
