I have a question. My wife and I got an accepted offer on a house in Valhalla NY. After we got the accepted offer, the realtor of the seller said that the house's water tank had ruptured several years ago while the seller was in Florida. The basement stayed flooded during the winter. When we got the house inspected, the inspector spotted mold in the basement. I told the realtor this and they said the seller had the house cleaned and there was no mold. We hired a mold specialist and sure enough the basement is infested with mold, some of which may be harmful. The specialist went so far to say that he would not recommend bringing a baby down to the basement for at least 6 months. My wife is expecting - this is why he said this. My wife keeps insisting she wants to bring the seller and realtor to small claims court to get the money back for the mold inspection. Do we have a case? Please note that we didn't sign a contract or anything. Thank you for your help.
