monitoring workers with security cameras

im a janitor a t a iowa high school and my employeer is using the security cameras to time workers breaks and monitoring working pratices. we have at no point been told of this pratices and the employeer denies that they are doing it. is this legal?

If they deny it, it's your word against theirs. Just do your job, the cameras don't matter if you're doing your work.
