Mortgage Loan

My husband and I are trying to get a home loan. He has a FT job, and good credit, yet doesn't make enough money to get the loan on his own. I have good credit but am on Social Security Disability for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder/Panick Attacks. When we were turned down they told us that the only way we could get the loan is if I had a doctors note saying that I will continue to have this condition for the next three years. I have many problems with that but the most important one is: What doctor is going to this? No decent doctor is going to condemn their patients with this nasty disorder, and it would be lying for them to write such a statement when it could very well be gone in a few months. It seems like it's a legal loophole for the underwriters to get through so they don't have to risk it. However if that's their game, then maybe I need to find a crooked doctor just so I won'tbe denied the basic human right of owning a home. Is there a way around this?

They want to make sure you will be getting this money for at least the next three years, If you are on SSDI then a doctor has already stated you will have this disorder for a long time. There is no way around this, this is a policy they have to verify income.

The doctor that you have seen about this condition is the one that should be able to do this. If this is a true illness for you and you have been approved for the SS then no one is lying.

It would be lying if a doctor says I will have this for three years. It could go on for three more days for all anyone knows. My therapist already said she wouldn't sign such a thing. Any one with professional advice?
