About six years ago I lost my kids to the state of Utah and one was placed in my sisters care sence then she has adopted him. I have sence turned my life around and am a better person now. I would like to get him back. My sister was there the hole time and has seen me grow into a better person and agrees i should have my son back. How would we go about giving me back custody of my son?

..your sister adopted the child?

Then you're no longer the child's parent. However, if you can prove to the State that you're fit, you may be able to have custody if your sister agrees.

You really do need an attorney for this though, since the State was involved.

You must be prepared though for the possibility that the State will not allow this to happen.

Yes my sister adopted him but she does agree that I should get him back. Would pre-payed legal be good enough or would I need a real attorney?

Pre-paid legal services provide licensed attorneys.
They usually don't litigate complex matters.

If they do, it is often at an additional cost.
They do make referrals.
Go ahead, consult them.
