motorcycle rally

I want to get together with a few friends at a NY state park this summer for an overnight rally. To get harley davidson and some other companies there they require I register the eventif I register the event it will no longer be friends other people will show up. We also want to do a suggested ride route for the next day but its ride your own ride otherwords not supervised just get a group of friends and go along the suggested route or not. I want to know if I register the event and we hold it and we all meet at a resturant after the ride if someone got hurt or crashed would I then be responisble or liable for any thing or can I research more on this on my own.

If you are some kind of organization or event sponsor, then yes, you definitely need a lot of liability insurance.

I tried to get event ins. but as we are not acompany or real sponser they will not sell it to us is there a way to do it without being a sponsor or

I would also like to know if I could get the ins how much should I get ? or just blow it up and not do it or just post it up on the website come if you want to but there is no sponser and you are responsible for yourself
