Moving Expense Question

I have an employment agreement that states I need to stay employed for 2 years to not reimburse my moving expenses. I stayed 1 and would technically owe half. How obligated am I to pay this back? Thank you.

What makes you think you are NOT obligated to pay it back?

You signed the agreement.

I realized I was no longer needed and was willing to forego my job and salary for a company that could no longer afford me.

That's very nice but it does not automatically void the agreement. You'll need to show it to an attorney in your state or ask your HR department if they would be willing to void it.
