My jurisdiction is: Mass
I own a 2 family home which i share with my husband and 4 small children. On Thursday night we had a friend andher 2 children over to carve pumpkins, after we had carved the pumpkins the kids were playing around laughing and dancing, they were all trying on a gorilla mask. we got a call from our tenant who said to keep the noise down this was 8.15pm. my husband and iwere very annoyed at this as we never have guest and are very cordial landlords. my husband went down and yelled at her, told her to catch a grip it was the night before halloween and the kids were having a bit of fun, before we rented to her we told her we have 4 kids who can be noisey she said it wasn't a problem as she has nieces and nephews. There were no witnesses to this altercation. The next morning her boyfriend came to our house he was very angry , and threating he and my husband had a argument butmy husband said he would apolgize to his girlfriend. Because there was such a heated arguement i told my husband to wait to speak to her on Monday.
On Monday morningat 7am the boyfriend came back to our home again very confrontational and aggrivetad, again he and my husband had a heated arguement. He handed my husband a letter quoteing mass laws. We just refused a certified letter of the same information as the first one. I should mention she is a coroperate lawyer. What should we do next if anything and should we hire a lawyer.
