My son has resided in the same apartment we once shared since he was 2 years old; he is now 26. I moved out 8 years ago. The landlord is constantly calling and harrassing him saying he is not on the lease and is going to have to move. I know he can not evict him, as this is a rent controlled apartment, and he has succession rights. What can he/I do to stop this harrassment?

He can get his name on the lease. I take it you lived there before he was born for several years? Good luck.

For an apartment to be under rent control, the tenant (or their lawful successor such as a family member, spouse, or adult lifetime partner) must have been living in that apartment continuously since before July 1, 1971.
