my 17 year old moved out

My 17 year old moved out and into his girlfriends house without our concent. when her parents came to pick him and his clothes up, we told them repeatedly that this was against our consent. We have been trying for days to get law enforcement involved, they all say that he is 17 and there is nothing we can do. We have contacted several lawyers and none have called us back. Is this such a gray area that no one willing to help us? We are taking him to individual and family therapy and he is seeing a Psychiatrist. We are willing to do anything and take it as far as we can to have our son back and continue to get him the help he needs. Everyone we talk to say that at 17 he has the right to leave, we should have rights as parents that aparently no one is willing to help us enforce.

Please help.

You do not need the permission of the police or a lawyer to bring your underage son back home. If you don't want him living there, go get him yourself.

according to the police I can do nothiong.. If I go to their house and drag him out kicking and screaming, can they arrest me?

Contact a Lawyer and Police Chief. Insist he come home of you demand charges be filed on the parent harboring him. If Police will not act threaten to sue. Make sure your contact with Police chief and the results are forwarded to both City council and your Mayor along with threat to sue.
