my 5 year old daughters father is a sex offender will not give up rights

I have a situtation to were I have kidney cancer and want my daughters god parents to have custody of her if I were to pass away. Her father has never paid child support and has only seen her two times in the past five years. She does not like him very much when he had came to visit those couple of time. Also my daughter has chronic heart decease with a pacemaker which with his record and not providing for her I do not think it would be in her best interest mentally or physically with her condition for the courts to allow him custody. And would that happen? Her god parents have been there for her ever since she was born and with all her health issues and they have a stable and loving enviroment to were I can feel rest assured she will be taking care of. What can I do to make sure they get her? Her father was charged with having sex with a 16 year old girl and resides in illinois.

Nonetheless, I wish you a speedy recovery.

Insofar as "bio dad" being stripped of his parental rights, do NOT get your hopes up!!!!

I suggest you consult a lawyer.

Unfortunately, the standard for parenting is very low.

Sex offenders and molesters are not barred from parenting their own children, even if they abused their childrens' cousins.

You might have the godparents work with you to retain legal counsel.

Even with legal counsel retained, you face an uphill battle.

Yeah, it sucks, but its the law (and practice) as they say.
