I started working for a major corporation 2 years ago. I have a colleague that is being verbally abused and harrassed by her supervisor and the managing director. This woman has worked for this company for 30 years+ and has given her life to them. I've noticed that she doesn't look very well and seems very stressed lately. I told her to make a complaint with HR and that was a year ago. Nothing happened. She is afraid of losing her job and is afraid to do anything, but I feel like she is hurting herself (emotionally, physically) by not taking actions to correct this. Everyone in the office has taken notice. especially lately.

:( extremely worried

Your coworker needs to file a formal complaint against those who are using unprofessional conduct against her. If no action from HR, she needs to consider filing a complaint against her employer with the EEOC. Good Luck!

presutin's advice is accurate ONLY if the "harassment" is based in a characteristic protected under the law.
