I was not home at the time, so this is a second hand account but from what I was told a girl scout came to me door. My actual door was open, but my metal screen door was closed, she rang my doorbell, then from what I was told she proceeded to open the screen door. The dog ran to the door and my son was following not to far behind the dog. The little girl, frightened by the dog ran, because the door was open the dog ran after her and she fell down. My son told the dog to go back in the house. He helped the little girl up and helped her pick her cookies up. He said the dog did not bite the girl. I arrived home as the mother and daughter were leaving my driveway. The mom said nothing to me or my husband. About an hour later she rang my doorbell and told me that the dog bite her daughter, and that she had puncture marks. The dog was in the house, in the control of my children and only chased the girl after she opened the door, not to mention we have a no soliciting sign. What are the ramifications if my dog (he's about 5 Lbs.) did in fact bite her. The mother did not come up to the house with her daughter who looked to be about 8 years old, but says the daughter did not open the door, she claims that the door was already open. My youngers son who was able to see the girl said she did in fact open the door. My other son and his girlfriend both said they hear the door open. The knob is loud when you turn it.
