I got a credit card in my name only when I was married. In my divorce agreement my ex-wife was supposed to take over financial responsibiity of the credit card to get it paid off. She however did not take care of it. So here I am about 2 years later and I just received a notice in the mail that a collection agency is taking me to small claims court. Is there anyway I can make it so my ex-wife has to also appear during this same hearing to get it settled right then and there that she be held responsible? If so, how? I have copies of the divorce agreement in which she signed.:confused:If not what would be my best next step?

Creditors do not care what a decree says they want their money. You are still responsible for the debt.

Agreed. Your ex is the person bound by the agreement, not the credit card company. They're entitled to come after you as the card-holder. You are entitled to try to recover from your wife for breaching the agreement.
