Basically, my friend Ben bought 2 twelve packs. We we're at his house, and there we're two girls there, one 17, one 18, and I'm 20. Ben's 23

We all attend the same church. A week after that night of drinking, the youth minister got word of it, and went on a tirade.

before anyone was able to get ahold of me, and tell me the story we were gonna stick to, The youth minister tricked me into confessing by convincing me he already had proof and knew everything, and threatening me.

Here's what I really need to figure out.

the confession he has from me is all text messages. And it's the only proof anyone has. Is that a valid confession? Did I seal my friends fate?

And I was curious as to how cases like this normally pan out

The parents of the girls are just angry at the girls for lying about where they were. And one girl's dad is a cop, who actually told off the youth minister for sticking his nose into other peoples business.

Can the youth minister go off and file charges, even if the parents don't want to?

Any insight would be appreciated

Where do you live?

Have you considered going to a different church?

What makes you think the youth minister is going to go to the police?

The church is in Carson City.

We won't be going to that church anymore, the priest told us we are no longer welcome, but I don't see how this is pertinent

The youth minister is an unreasonable bully, with one hell of a temper, and he told Ben he better get an attorney.

How this is gonna play out isn't my concern right now

I'm curious as to how much weight that text confession holds, and how likely it is that Ben will get jail time if it goes to court

Text messages are easily faked.
