I am a home owner in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I separated from a woman that I was living with some years ago. She called me 3 years ago saying she had no place to stay, could she stay at my home temporarily. I let her stay here and gave her a room and let her move her stuff into my house. Since then she hasn't worked, paid no rent and doesn't clean, cook or anything else.
The room I have given her is so full of junk that I can't even open the door all the way and you have to wade through the 3 feet of clothes and debris to get to anything. It is so bad that she now resides on the couch to sleep.
When I ask her to clean it up she just laughs and leaves.
She pays no rent at all and there was no agrrement to let her stay indefinately. When I tell her to leave she tells me that because her mail is sent here that I am going to have to evict her.
My question is....Do I have to have her evicted even if she pays no rent and contributes nothing monetarily or services to the house?
