Security Deposit My landlord won't return my security deposit

My previous landlord will not return my security deposit because he said I had nail holes in the walls,after I disputed this with him,he made up a story that I also had a hole in the wall which is not true.I asked him to provide me with a picture of the so called hole or show me receipts where it cost him to repair the alleged hole. His reply was he did not have to provide me with anything. He is charging me$400.00 because he had to paint the apartment. what should I do
