I'm trying to find out my rights as a petitioner in my dissolution of marriage. i filed for a divorce after five years of marriage. Me and my wife were renting a house. When I left she stayed at the residence. The lease is up in February and she is trying to sue me for paying the rent till then since both of our name are on the lease. Can she do that ? Also we have a 15 year old daughter is child support going to be ordered? We are going in front of a majestrate instead of a judge what does that mean also.
thanks

A magistrate is a judge. I suspect that you will be ordered to pay child support and maintenance. Just because you are the petitioner doesn't confer on you any right to get out of your obligations.
