my sons father has not worked in over a year. i am getting support from his unemployment, but he does not have health insurance on my son. Which the paperwork said he had to do that. i have been using my last name for my son for the past 2 years. My son says his last name is my last name. His father is starting to get mad because he is not using his legal name. can i get in trouble for that? also i have been documenting off and on for the past 3 years. i don't have as much as i should but i have about 3 pages worth of just random things that he has done and said. He has said some pretty awful things to my son about me and my boyfriend. what would be my chances of getting some of his parenting time cut back??

You are confusing support with custody and last names. Nothing you've said will reduce dad's parenting time.

You can't beat a dead horse. If he does not have insurance and you can obtain it through the state, you should do so. You need to use the legal last name on his birth certificate. Doing otherwise can create records, such as school etc..., that he will not be able to substantiate later. You have not indicated anything that would specifically change his visitation.

Virtually no chance whatsoever.

First, you need to teach your son to use his legal name. Yes, you can get into trouble for that. Why haven't you corrected your son?

Second, I can pretty much guarantee that your paperwork says that Dad must carry insurance ONLY WHEN FEASIBLE (or words to that effect).
