I live in richmond, virginia and the lease on my apartment was ending this month. I added my roommate to my lease for 6 months only. We were to turn in our notice if we were not going to renew the lease. We had to do this in at least 60 days. She put in her notice on 1/8/08 and I put mines in on 1/14/08. I only required her to pay for the 8 days and I would pay the rest because cleaning up behind her was like living with a pet. She told me that the leasing office informed her that she could sue me for turning in my notice six days late resulting in her paying more money. She paid $160 and I paid $259. If I put in my notice within that sixty-day period and I paid for the additional days, legally, could she sue?

Q: If I put in my notice within that sixty-day period and I paid for the additional days, legally, could she sue?

A: Yes. Anyone can sue anybody for anything at any time anywhere.
