I am a student from WI. I got a summer internship with a large company here in OR and I found 2 other interns from GA and decided to room with them to keep the cost down. So We applied to this apartment complex and there is an option that we can get furniture for $127 a month extra to the rent. If we want the furniture, the apartment management will add the furniture contract to the lease. We never really discussed about if we want the furniture or not but this one guy in GA really want to have the furniture. The apartment management faxed a contract to GA and this one guy signed ALL 3 of our name on it and faxed it back. That acted as MY authorization to the furniture. So the apartment management went ahead and add the furniture to the rental agreement. Apparently, I never signed anything and he forged my signature. Yesterday I was forced to either signed the rental agreement that has BOTH the apartment and furniture on it or move somewhere. So I had no choice but to sign it. The evidence I have about this forgery is that he confessed to the manager of the apartment complex that he did it and I supposed the manager will still have that faxed copy of the contract.

I am so furious about this. Not only about the extra money I was forced to pay each month but someone forged my signature. Because at the end of the rental term, our security deposit will be refunded with all our names on it so that ALL 3 signatures are required to cash the check. I cannot trust this guy not to forge my signature again to cash the check and not give me my part of the security deposit.

My question is what can I do about this. I feel like I am being totally taken advantage of .
