My sister in law is being bullied!

Hello,

First of all they are not married. Been living together for 10+ yrs. He was caught cheating, by her. They are purchasing a house, both names on deed. He moved out over a month ago. Is not going to make anymore house payments.Threatened to let the house go into forclosure. My question is, Can she change the locks on the house, without notifying him? She is making the house payments now.

Since it's his house too, then he has the right to enter. If she changes the locks, he can legally break down the door to get in if necessary.

Does your state recognize common law marriage? You can find out by googling. If so, she can look into getting a divorce. The house would be included in the marital assets.
