My wife and I have lived in florida for over a year. Less than a month ago we separated and she moved to Texas where she has filed for divorce. She is claiming that she has been a resident of Texas for 6 months and a resident of that county for 90+ days, neither of which is true. I was served today and do not know where to go from here. I tried the legal aid offices here and they will not help because it is a petition from Texas. What to do?

You need to object based upon lack of jurisdiction.

Do NOT file anything in Texas - you need to answer and file a motion to dismiss based upon lack of jurisdiction. You really need an attorney - many will give you an initial consultation for free, or you can call the Florida State Bar Association for a low-cost referral.

Also, FL is incredibly good to pro-se litigants. Have a walk down to your local court-house.
