Name change

I would like to legally change my name. Would it be possible for me to obtain the necessary documents (perhaps online) and file them with the court myself without the assistance of an attorney?

You can check at the courthouse or you can google your state's courts self help. If they have a self help section, the forms and instructions will most likely be there, and you can do it yourself.
