name changes on deeds, I'm confused!!!

On a deed can a person just change their middle name? My stepmoms name was georgia I ford While checking title search I came across a deed,the names of grantors & grantees,went like this, Georgia L Ford R then Georgia I Ford E And then my stepsisters name Johna J Braden E Can this be done? My stepmom just changed Georgia I to Georgia L,There is no person named Georgia L Ford HELP PLEASE

Sounds like a typo.

Those are very common.

If stepma wants the deed corrected, she needs to hire a real estate lawyer.
