NC driver speeding in VA

I received a ticket for speeding on interstate 81 in Virginia, the trooper signed the ticket for going 78 in a 65. I am a NC licensed driver and VERY concerned about what may happen to my insurance. I've seen threads that suggest getting it knocked down to 9 or get a prayer for judgment. Can I do this from NC or does this have to be done in VA where the ticket is from? Can you still get a prayer for judgment even though the ticket was not in NC? I'm really confused if I deal with the VA court that issued the ticket or my local NC courts?

You will deal with the court in Virginia. Call or visit the NC DMV to see if they will post this to your record. When you find out, please let us know.

I have the same question, so please let me know what you find out, as I just got a ticket in VA and am from NC. I really hope i can get a Prayer for Judgement but don't know if that is possible.... Let me know, thanks!

PFJ is not available in Virginia. NC posts 10mph and over tickets to your record. If the ticket is over 15mph above the speed limit, NC will suspend your license.
