An officer gave me a ticket stating that i was driving wrecklessly and was speeding 65 in a 45 MPH zone. The wreckless driving referred to me taking a turn quick, and i was not doing 65MPH in a 45, FACT. I've been "quoted" $375 from an attorney to go try and take care of this for me. He told me that he would try to reduce it all, or use my prayer for judgment. Are these my only options? All that matters to me are my insurance points :) . Could I visit the Johnston County D.A. and try to accomplish something? My court date is June 9. Anything??

P.S. is unsafe driving that much better of a charge than wreckless driving?

thanks.

A wreckless charge may have serious consequences including suspension of your licence and 2-4 fold increase in your insurance rates.

Using an attorney is your best chance to minimize the damage, $375 is fairly reasonable for this charge.

I forgot to mention the best part, you will not have to go to court and wait 6 hrs while the attorney's and ADA discuss their golf game, err, uhhh, negotiate the plea's. :D
