My 16 year old got into a locked area at home and took one of my prescription meds to school where she shared 1 pill with a friend. She was caught and goes to court the end of the month for 1 count of intent to sell/distribute.
She is also in the same court system at the moment as a victim of assult(rape).
She is now under the care of a psyciatrist for both issues.
She also takes anti-depressents and thyroid meds which she was not taking appropriatly at the time of the school incident and we were told by a counslor that this can greatly effect her state of mind.
The school officials are very supportive of her and believe her drug issue was a cry for help over other issues... does all this have any effect on the charge of MIP w/intent?

A good lawyer would know how to use all these to fight the charge. It would help in a way….It can be used skillfully to her defense. This goes to the heart of state of mind and other stuff if she has a clean record........ Just get a good lawyer.
