Long story short, I was young and stupid, married a citizen of Israel. I live in Minnesota, and we got married in Canada. After 2 years we decided to get divorced. The ex hired a lawyer in Israel, I received court papers about hearing date to finish divorce. The ex promised to send the divorce papers, but never did and disappeared. I tried calling Israel embassy, they are no help, tried calling a few offices in Israel, some couldn't undestand me, others told me I had to come in person. I do not want to spend thousands of dollars to travel to Israel just to find out there was no divorce or it's a wrong place to go. I have no idea where ex is, I have no contact with him whatsoever and don't know where to find him.
How can I divorce him in the US, specifically in Minnesota, without him present?

If you have resided in Minnesota for 180 days, and you have lived separate and apart for 180 days, you file for divorce. You get an order allowing you to serve him by substitute means - typically by serving his parents or something similar. He doesn't contest, you take your divorce order.

I do not have any contact information for anyone who is either related to him or even knows him. What would I need to file then?

You can most likely do essentially the same thing, but do it either by some other form of substituted service such as publication or get an order dispensing with service altogether. Exactly what you can do depends on Minnesota family law rules, and I am not expert in those. You should consult a local divorce lawyer.
