Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft need help and advice

i involve in shoplifting accident in new york. no police involve but tehy took my driver license and get my information after 3 days i got a demend letter from their attorney asking to pay $174.85 and i did beacuse im too scare and i donnot want my husband to know about it my question is do still giev ma court date and sue me for civil penalty? do i need a lawyer for this please i need help and advice im too scared and i cannot sleep anymore.

Since no Police were involved it appears they seek a civil solution to this issue. Pay the Civil Demand and this should be over

thanks for the advice...actually they try to call the police but the police is dealing w/ other people at that time... my bothering me is when they sent the demand letter and i says "this claim is seperate form, and in additon to, any criminal action arising from this incident " and thats bother me a lot...please help me..i'm scare to go to court

Until you are contacted by Police or recieve a summons in mail you have nothing to fear. Pay the Civil Demand and just let this go unless contacted by Police or courts

i got money order and send the civil demand...is that the end of it?
i'm still scared....do they still press charges for me and bring the case to court?

There is no way to tell if they will press charges later. It is doubtful though in my view
