Need Help Fast Please Help!

There is an altering on my birthdate on my NC state license...I personally did not do it...Two questions about this...

Would I most likely get charged even if I personally did not do it?
AND
What would be my punishment if I did get charged?

Please Answer My Question...I'm very worried about all of this and its really bothering me...I have never even been pulled over before in my life...Please Help!!!
