I was in the US Army from 1989-1993. I was stationed for the most part in El Paso Tx. One night in May 1993 (don't remember the date but I know the next day was Mothers' Day), a friend and I stopped at a fast food resturant called WhattaBurger. The drive thru was full, so my friend Williams decided to go inside to get the food, I stayed in the car. After about 20 mins, he came back out with the food and got in the car. No sooner than he sat in the car, a policeman was knocking on the window. Williams rolled downed the window and the policeman asks us if we were not informed to not be here, we said no but if you want us gone, we're gone. At this time, the senior officer said no, bring them too, before we knew we were handcuffed and shackled. We were never read our rights or anything. When we went to our court date, our names were not even call. When we asked, we were told that our names are nowhere to be found. I informed them that I was leaving the military and therefore leaving Tx, I was told no charges or fines were levied against me. Now, 15 years later, I find out there is an active warrant for me in El Paso, Tx for rioting. What do I do? I am stunned beyond words and hurt ann afraid. I'm a black man in America, I've heard two many horror stories.
