Ok so I drove a friend A to another friend B dad's car lot to borrow a car and the friend B said his dad knew, but he didn't and the car was reported stolen. Well my friend A was arrested, can I be charged with anything for driving him there? What can I do about it? What kind of time am I looking at?

If I were YOU, I'd keep my mouth shut.

YOU didn't steal anything.

The less YOU know about what happened, the BETTER off you will be.

Stay the F*CK out of this.

Shut the F*CK up, and you should be OKAY!

tou would have to be charged with a crime in order to be looking at jail time. As army said keep your mouth shut and if the police ever do come to talk to you about this dont say a word and get an attorney. The only thing you did was give a friend a ride(or maybe not)Good luck.

If they can show that you knew about the theft or participated it in some way, you could be charged with one of a number of offenses from conspiracy to the theft itself.

If the police come calling, you should probably politely decline to say a word and then contact an attorney.

Just got word that he was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Also heard that the local pd is following anyone they suspect of being involved in undercover vehicles

I'd take the tailing rumor with a grain of salt. Such an activity can be very expensive! We don't tend to do such a thing for violent felonies! To do it for an auto theft would make the city bean counters have seizures. Your department would have to have no budget problems, abundant manpower, and few serious crimes to even consider such a thing.

MAYBE they will stake out the friends' homes once in a while to see what they see, but to FOLLOW everyone? Uh, no way.

But, it might not be a bad idea to behave as if you were being followed just to make sure you stay on the straight and narrow.

Well my town only has like 2 murders a year. And I'm just going along with my daily life. I'm normally good, but got caught up in this by mistake and not going back in it. Does that also mean I should drive at or under the speed limit?

I would just do everything by the numbers. If you treat your life like you are under surveillance, you may well keep yourself out of trouble.

Is there any chance anything bad could happen when I go into court for traffic tickets?
I suppose you could get run over in the parking lot ... just what are you asking?

If charges are filed against you for the theft, then you might be arrested on a warrant if one has been issued ... but, otherwise, I'm not sure how to answer that.

Basically you should live your life as any normal law abiding person would. If they are going to come after you then they are going to come after you. Don't sweat it and if it does happen then say nothing and get an attorney.
