my father passed away 5 years ago there was no will and there are 3 children and a house. we appointed a friend of our fathers as executor and he is not doing what we want how do we go about removing him.

If there was no will, you didn't need to appoint an executor.
If there was no will, your dad dies intestate.
Dad's home should automatically have passed to all five of you siblings.

You might want to consult with a local attorney to clear this up.
the "executor" you appointed might have ripped all of you off!!!!!
Something smells rotten, and I think its the executor.
