k guys, need help......(go figure)......my deal is this.....

went to a concert last thursday nite at a casino and took my camera (no where on website or at concert did they say "no cameras allowed")......long story short, security guard took my camera and physically shoved me numerous times until i was out the front door.....have since then talked with director of security, and he said they have fired the employee that "shoved" me---it was all video taped, and they want to offer me free tickets for my trouble.....can i do anything?...........

help

Well ... you can make a police report for battery and maybe for theft (if he kept the camera) ... you can sue the venue in small claims court for the value of the camera ... what else?

If you got the camera back, it would seem to me that free tickets might be a reasonable accomodation. Depending on your state, battery is probably a relatively minor offense so do not count on a serious penalty for the security person.

thanks for the reply........i just didnt know........i am a woman, and it was a man that did all the shoving-for no reason.......like i said, it was all on tape, and the director of security said they fired the guy, guess thats all i can hope for......was just asking.......

If you did not get the camera back, I would encourage them to buy you a new one or pay you back for it.

oh, i got the camera back at the end of the night, after i missed most of the freakin' concert........i just wanted reimbursment for the tickets.....it was at a casino in arkansas, and i had/have no desire to go back after that night...had a couple people tell me i could sue them?.......who knows

A person can sue anyone for anything ... they just might not win. I suppose if you have the money to pay an attorney up front you can sue them. However, if you violated the rules or the law in bringing the camera in then your case is a whole lot weaker. Chances are there was a sign somewhere, or a memo on the ticket, that indicated no recording devices of any kind.

If it were me, I'd push for free tickets and have done with it. Unless you have the money to front for an attorney, I wouldn't worry about it much.

Perhaps you can take the tickets and give them away to someone else if you don't want to go back there.
