My step-daughter took out a loan for her then boyfriend. When the time came for the payments to be made, he skipped on them. My husband paid the loan off for her so that it didn't affect her credit. Now we are wondering if there is any way that we can go after him for the money. He did sign on the loan papers, but not as the main person, and he did put up collateral. Is there any way that we can take this to small claims?

You can sue anyone.

Even if you prevail, you'll never collect a dime from a deadbeat.

If I were you, I'd let it go.

But, I'd have a chat with your daughter.

He's a deadbeat.

She's kind of a dingbat to loan money to a boyfriend.
