Recently was contacted by a debt collection company for the amount of roughly $1200.00. They contacted me at work and I asked them not too and gave them two alternate numbers to reach me. They did reduce the amount to $800.00 and set up payment plans. I was able to make the first payment amount of $300.00 but could not make the next scheduled payment. I contacted the company two days before amt due and told them I couldn't pay but would be willing to pay in full on my last scheduled pay date. The company said that because an agreement was made if I don't keep the scheduled pay dates I would have breached the agreement. Even though I am working with them can they still send me to court; what happens if they do decide to go to court and can they still call and bother me at work if I have asked them not to and they acknowledge that request was made?

Yes, they can take you to court because they made an arrangement with you and you have broken it-- they will more then likely get a judgment and garnish your wages until the account is paid in full-- If you don't want them to call you @ work write them a letter and send it to them certified-- they more then likely wont call you @ work
