Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Need some petty theft advice.

I was recently arrested for petty theft in placer county. I stole a few items from a local winco with the total value of under 10 dollars. I was curious if I could appeal for an infraction, and what my biggest penalty could be. I have no previous convictions.

I believe a petty theft with such a low value is typically handled as an infraction. When the time comes, as to speak with the public defender and you should have everything handled well.
