Need to cancel purchase of car in Houston, TX

I signed all the financial papers for the purchase of a new Honda on Friday Aug 1, 2008. although I wrote a check for $10K down payment and do not have a current job nor do I have $10K in my bank account. I did this in anticipation of receiving a large amount of money for the sale of some property this week. I told the salesman all this and he said they would hold my check for 10 days. I felt really pressured to go ahead with this deal. I do not have possession of the new car but am driving a loaner car as I signed and gave them the title to my car as well. Now I am afraid that I will not receive my money in a timely manner and want to cancel the deal for the car.
Can I do this? Is there a law that gives me 'an out' like a grace period to reconsider or something like that?
Please help ASAP.

You cannot cancel the car deal unilaterally. No grace period. You are bound by your agreement.
