I am in a rental that has had some serious mold issues and septic issues, I want to get out of my lease early and my landlord will not reimburse me for last months rent, what can I do about this?

More information is needed. What state do you live in? Each state has specific requirements on how tenants must notify landlords regarding repair issues and how long landlords have to respond to such. Have you notified your landlord in writing of your repair requests?

It's also important to understand that sometimes mold as a "get out of lease without penalty" has been overused and misunderstood by many tenants. If you live in a warm, moist climate, mildew is likely to be pretty common, especially in rooms such as bathrooms. It does not pose a health threat and can be easily cleaned by a combination of bleach and water or hydrogen peroxide and water. If mold is present in other rooms and is directly linked to a leak in the roof or walls then that is a repair issue that the landlord needs to be adequately notified about and addressed.

It is highly unlikely that your landlord would be willing to reimburse you for a previous months rent; in order to get this money you'd need to consider a lawsuit which means you must prove to the courts that your reasons for breaking a lease and getting reimbursement are justified and do not leave you facing a financial penalty from the landlord.
