Background:
College student, age 21. I paid for my car a few years ago but listed it under my Dad's name for insurance purposes.
I'm from Tennessee, where my parents live, and just started an internship in California a week ago. On the drive out, I began having car troubles. Now the car is pretty much shot from the trip across the country and I need to get rid of it and purchase a new one.
My problem: The car is registered in my father's name and he is in 2,500 miles away. What steps do he and I need to take to sell/trade/donate this car?
