need to take someone off lease

I have 2 people on my lease aggreement and the other person is not happy and wants to move. We still have 1 yr 6 months on the lease. I am prepared to keep the house and pay the whole rent amount. Can I ask the rental agency to remove 1 person from the lease and can they do anything if she just leaves?

I suppose you can. For everyone to be protected though in case anyone defaults, this person should officially be removed. Talk to the landlord.

I did and they are saying they cannot remove anyone from the lease?

Then the person who wants to leave has to make the choice of which is worse; stay in the current rental situation or leave and run the risk of being sued.

Now they say they can remove her, but if I bring someone else in, they want another $1000 for more security deposit. I already paid the security deposit when I moved in. Can they ask for more money to let someone else move in?
